| Elephone U and U Pro |
The Elephone U and U pro is finally here, the smart-phone that beats the Elephone U and S8 plus. There has rumours about this phone since last year speculating that it would be called Elephone S9 and it was even on their official site that it would be named S9 but i guess something came up to change their mind.
Now to the real deal; this Elephone S9 is really a super model mobile phone with great and very awesome specifications. The Elephone U/U Pro definitely surpass the Elephone U/S8 Plus in terms of everything and i think it should not be compared to it but rather to be compared with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus.
When I look at the phone images or the video, all I see is display and i began to wonder if it has up to 95% screen to body ratio or is it just the advert video but i really hope it really look just the way we see it.
Display
The Elephone U and U pro are equipped with a 3D Glass design and advance curve AMOLED screen. Compared to the traditional screen, it offers a wider vision, a higher refresh rate to smoothen user experience while being much thinner. The phone delivers rich colours, vivid images and stunning immersive effects. Both models feature a massive 5.99” inch display that sports a 2160*1080 full screen resolution and a screen to body ratio of 88%.
Hardware and memory
The Elephone U Pro is equipped with a powerful chipset Soc; Snapdragon® 660 Octa-core CPU from Qualcomm®, it can boost up to an impressive clock speed of 2.2GHz. The Elephone U and U Pro should have a massive performance which can provide users more than enough power to play demanding games and launch large apps; it also features an energy-efficient 14nm FinFET manufacturing process technology to make sure users don’t run out of battery quickly.
The Elephone U is equipped with Octa-core MTK P23 series, it can boost up to an impressive clock speed of 2.5GHz, so technically, it power can give supports for big games. In the meanwhile, the 16nm manufacturing process technology should bring a nice user experience and also reduce power consumption.
Elephone U and U Pro features a 6GB RAM and 6GB RAM aren’t always the same but the type of RAM used is the real deal; both model uses LPDDR4x RAM technology which enables it to increase its performance by 80% and reduces 40% of its power consumption at the same time. It also houses an enormous 128GB internal storage which is quite enough storage for a user.
Camera
Both models are equipped with a dual 13MP rear camera; the RGB lens captures the colour information while the mono lens captures the brightness and detail information plus the 13MP RGB+Mono camera uses Arcsoft® algorithm. It features a bokeh effect, PDAF, Super night image technology and so on. Both models are features a 8MP selfie camera which comes with FOTA later technology (face unlock technology).
Security
There are two main advance security technologies on mobile phones; the fingerprint and face/eyes unlock pattern. The Elephone U and U pro features a Face unlock and fingerprint sensor security technology. The face unlock system analyses more than 128 invisible dots to help users in unlocking the phone by creating a precise depth map of the user face with an unlock speed up to 0.08s.
Other features
ELEPHONE U and U Pro are equipped with Smart PA system. The advanced chip-set can intelligently control the vibration of the speaker through the real-time perception; thereby make full use of speaker, greatly improving the overall loudness of the sound and the quality of low frequency. With this, the sound is purer and clearer.
The Elephone U and U Pro offer a smart soft light, when the screen is on. This provides a smart protection for your eyes whenever you need to use the phone for an extended period of time. This prevents eye strain symptoms like dry eyes and headaches.
ELEPHONE U and U Pro uses Corning®Gorilla®Glass 5, which redefines the durability of glass used on displays. Dropped from a height of 1.6m (this height equals the distance from the shoulder of an average sized person to its feet) onto a rough surface, the serviceability can still be maintained in up to 80% of the cases. I still wonder if this is really true.
