IPHONE 8 and IPHONE 8 PLUS LAUNCHED; price in Nigeria



Apple has released the IPHONE 8 that we’ve been waiting for and am sure we all want to know what is so special about it or what makes it different from the not too long IPHONE 7 and 7+. I will be discussing it basic specs on this post and will also endeavor to compare the new and old devices to see the upgrade, update and what makes it better and unique from the IPHONE 7 and 7+.
Apple IPHONE 8 introduces a new glass design with a better camera, powerful chip, wireless charging and a display experience.

Apple IPHONE 8 is basically designed with the most durable glass ever in smartphone which covers both front and back of the smartphone. The IPHONE 8 also has a senior which is the IPHONE 8 PLUS which are different in size. The design of the IPHONE 8 and IPHONE 8+ makes the smartphone resistant to dust and water splash. The IPHONE 8 and IPHONE 8+ comes in three new glass finishes: space gray, silver, and gold. A six‑layer ink process allows for precise hues, opacity, and rich depth of color. And the color‑matched aluminum band complements the glass beautifully. IPHONE 8 and IPHONE 8 PLUS features redesigned stereo speakers that are up to 25 percent louder and deliver deeper bass.


DISPLAY

The IPHONE 8 sports a 4.7-inch (diagonal) widescreen LCD Multi-Touch display with IPS technology which is also a Retina HD display with high viewing angles and cinematic movie display. It has a resolution of 1334*750 pixel at 326 PPI with 1400:1 contrast ratio (typical), while the IPHONE 8+ features a 5.5-inch Retina HD display with a widescreen LCD Multi-touch display with IPS Technology. it sports a resolution of 1920*1080 pixel at 401 PPI and 1300:1 contrast ration (typical). Both devices displays are quite more than good in visual display but not what IPHONE users are really expecting in size.

Both device features; True Tone display, Wide color display (P3), 3D Touch, 625 cd/m2 max brightness (typical), Dual-domain pixels for wide viewing angles, Fingerprint-resistant oleo-phobic coating, Support for display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously, Display Zoom and Reachability.

“The True Tone technology uses an advanced four‑channel ambient light sensor to subtly adjust the white balance onscreen to match the color temperature of the light around you. So images on the display look as natural as on a printed page, reducing eyestrain”.





CAMERA

The IPHONE 8 features an advance 12MP rear camera with a larger, faster sensor, new color filter, Deeper pixels and optical image stabilization for photos and videos. It has a wide angle camera with an ƒ/1.8 six‑element lens. While the IPHONE 8+ sports a dual rear camera of 12MP + telephoto cameras with a wide‑angle camera with an ƒ/1.8 six‑element lens, optical image stabilization, and a larger, faster 12MP sensor. It also has a powerful ƒ/2.8 telephoto camera. The portrait mode gets even better, with sharper detail, more natural background blurring, improved performance in low light, and access to flash when you need it.

Portrait Lighting brings a new dimension to Portrait mode. Powered by A11 Bionic and the new ISP, Portrait Lighting uses facial detection and depth maps to capture portraits with striking shadows, spotlight effects, and more.

Both devices have: Optical image stabilization, Six‑element lens, Quad-LED True Tone flash with Slow Sync, Panorama (up to 63MP), Sapphire crystal lens cover, Backside illumination sensor, Hybrid IR filter, Autofocus with Focus Pixels, Tap to focus with Focus Pixels, Live Photos with stabilization, Wide color capture for photos and Live Photos, Improved local tone mapping, Body and face detection, Exposure control, Noise reduction, Auto HDR for photos, Auto image stabilization, Burst mode, Timer mode, Photo geotagging, Image formats captured: HEIF and JPE.

FRONT CAMERA

Both device sports a 7MP camera with 1080p HD video recording, Retina Flash and a wide angle of ƒ/2.2 aperture. Other features include; Wide color capture for photos and Live Photos, Auto HDR, Backside, illumination sensor, Body and face detection, Auto image stabilization, Burst mode, Exposure control, Timer mode.






PERFORMANCE

IPHONE 8 and IPHONE 8 PLUS is running on a A11 Bionic chip with 64-bit architecture, Neural Engine and an Embedded M11 motion coprocessor. With six cores and 4.3 billion transistors, A11 Bionic has four efficiency cores that are up to 70 percent faster than the A10 Fusion chip, and two performance cores that are up to 25 percent faster. The CPU can even harness all six cores simultaneously when you need a turbo boost.  It has up to 25 percent fast rate CPU and 30 percent fast rate GPU and the A11 Bionic manages its enormous power intelligently by directing tasks between the performance and efficiency cores.

Metal 2 is Apple‑designed graphics software that lets developers build console‑style games. And Core ML enables developers to integrate machine learning into their apps. The GPU in A11 Bionic is optimized for these new, immersive 3D games and AR experiences.

OIS

It Is running on OIS 11 which is the most advanced, intuitive, and secure mobile operating system in the world. It’s designed to help you get the most out of iPhone.

RAM and ROM

The two devices will come in 64GB and 256GB storage options, with Apple ditching the 32GB starter model for the 2017 handsets. The company doesn't reveal the RAM capacity, though it is thought the iPhone 8 has 2GB of RAM, while the iPhone 8 Plus has 3GB of RAM.

WIRELESS CHARGING

iPhone 8 works with Qi wireless chargers commonly found in hotels, cafes, airports, and cars. Belkin and Mophie have also developed two new wireless chargers designed for IPHONE 8 and IPHIONE 8 PLUS.

TOUCH ID

Touch ID also enables Apple Pay, which lets you pay in stores, within apps, and on the web. And later this fall, you’ll be able to send and receive money in Messages.

It last just like the IPHONE 7 and 7 PLUS. with the IPHONE 8 having; Talk time (wireless): Up to 14 hours, Internet use: Up to 12 hours, Video playback (wireless): Up to 13 hours, Audio playback (wireless): Up to 40 hours, Fast-charge capable: Up to 50% charge 30 minutes. 





And the IPHONE 8 PLUS having; Talk time (wireless): Up to 21 hours, Internet use: Up to 13 hours, Video playback (wireless): Up to 14 hours, Audio playback (wireless): Up to 60 hours, Fast-charge capable: Up to 50% charge 30 minutes
